Aftercare & Information

First 24 Hours

  • Do not wet your lashes or apply makeup.
  • Avoid heavy exercise, steam or saunas – heat & moisture can impact glue adhesion.

Ongoing Care

  • Brush your lashes daily with a mascara wand, especially after getting them wet. This will ensure the extensions do not tangle and pull your natural lashes out prematurely.
  • Keep your lashes clean by washing them daily with an oil-free cleanser such as Prolong Lash Cleanser (available in salon). This helps remove any build up of oils, dead skin, dust & debris from your lash line.
  • Avoid liquid liners and oil based products as they will build up on your lash line and create issues during your refill. Be mindful to avoid eye area when using facial oils and serums.
  • Take additional care when removing eye makeup, a cotton tip or lint-free cloth with micellar water can be used along your lash line before cleansing to ensure all makeup residue is removed.
  • Do not use mascara over your extensions. Non waterproof mascara may be worn on bottom lashes and removed with an oil-free cleanser.
  • Avoid direct such as ovens & hair dryers as this will melt/sizzle your lashes. Remember, they are synthetic after all.
  • Please do not pick, pull or fiddle with your extensions. This can cause serious damage to your natural lashes.

Hot Tips!

🛁 Don’t be afraid of wetting your extensions in the shower. It is a common misconception that keeping your lashes away from water will make them last longer. In fact, clean lashes will last far longer than dirty lashes. It is crucial that they are kept clean and free of oil and debris. Not washing your lashes reguarly is unhygienic and has the potential to lead to infections and premature lash loss.

🧼 Clean lashes = long lasting healthy lashes

🛌 Opt for a silk pillowcase, it will make the world of difference to the longevity of your extensions.

Your lash extensions are attached to your own individual eyelashes and will shed as your natural lashes do. Maintaining your extensions will require regular visits to attach new extensions to your own lashes as your eyelash growth cycle regenerates new lashes.

General Guidelines

  • Lash refills should be done every 2-3 weeks depending on your natural lash cycle.
  • If more than 40% of your extensions have fallen off, or it has been over 3-4 weeks it will be considered a full set and you will be charged accordingly.
  • The average person loses about 5 lashes per day during a normal lash cycle so do not be alarmed when your extensions begin dropping out – this is completely normal.
  • Please come in for removals if required, do not attempt to remove your lashes at home. It is a quick and painless procedure when done professionally and it ensures you keep the integrity of your natural lashes.

Before Your Refill Appointment

  • Ensure your lashes are clean and free of makeup, build up or debris. The cleaner your lashes are, the more lash time you will get and the better they will last. Extensions do not stick to dirty/oily lashes.
  • Double check your booking; if you think it will take more time or you would like to change your lash style please let me know so we can adjust your appointment.

IMPORTANT NOTE

If you ever experience any discomfort, irregular lash loss or have any concerns about your extensions please do not hesitate to contact me. Humidity, temperature and other factors play a large role in your lash adhesion, and although I do my best to maintain a steady environment in the lash studio, these things are out of my control and can sometimes impact your retention.

If you have experienced an allergic reaction please seek medical advice and have your lashes removed as soon as possible.

Lash lifting requires very little aftercare but it is important to note that the first 24-48 hours are crucial to the outcome of your lift. For the best results, please remember the following:

  • Avoid rubbing or sleeping on your lashes for the first 24-48 hours while your lift sets in place.
  • Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hrs, including steam from showers or saunas.
  • Do not use harsh products on your eyes/lashes such as exfoliating cleansers.
  • No eye make up for 24 hours.
  • Avoid waterproof mascara’s at all times. Regular mascara or may be worn & removed using makeup remover.
  • Apply Elleeplex serum to your lashes daily to ensure they remain nourished & healthy while they’re growing out.
  • Please leave at least 6 weeks between lash lifts. Appointments sooner than this risk over processing/damaging your lashes.

Elleeplex Aftercare Serum – An abosolute MUST for lifted lashes

Elleeplex advanced gel formula is the perfect daily treatment to maintain optimum lash lift results and lash health, helping to eliminate frizzy hair whilst providing softness and shine to eyelashes and brows. Enriched with proteins, amino acids and vitamin complex ingredients such as Keratin, Arginine, Hydrolised Collagen, Allantoin and Panthenol.

  • Keep your brows dry for 24 hours. Moisture before this timeframe can cause a slight curl/frizz to the brow hair.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct heat or sunlight for 48 hours. Your skin will be slightly sensitive and should be treated as such.

  • Do not apply retinol or any exfoliating treatments to the area for at least 72 hours either side of your treatment.

  • Self-tanning products will negatively effect the desired result of this treatment. Please avoid these products on your face one week prior and 48 hours after.

  • Apply nourishing oil to your brows every day to keep them hydrated.

  • Brush your brows into place daily using a brow spoolie – after cleansing works best.

  • The less you wet, exfoliate or rub your brows, the longer the dye will last.

  • Using a brow styling balm/soap during the day is great for maintaining your lami as it grows out.

  • Apply a hair mask to your brows 10 minutes before hopping into the shower for an extra treat

Recommended time between appointments

Lamination: 8 weeks (minimum) to avoid over processing the hair.

Brow Dye & Tidy Up: 4 weeks

NOTE

It is normal to experience mild irritation and redness for up to 48 hours after your treatment. If symptoms persist, apply a cold compress to soothe your skin and seek medical advice. Please advise me if you have had an adverse reaction.

Please review the following information to ensure you have a pleasant waxing experience.

Preparation

  • Do not pluck or trim the area for at least 7 days before your appointment – ideally avoid plucking all together.
  • Before waxing, please ensure you have notified your therapist of any change in medications (oral or topical) such as antibiotics, as this can effect the treatment.
  • Avoid exfoliants and active skincare for at least 48 hours before your appointment.
  • After chemical peels or microdermabrasion, you must wait at least 7 days before waxing.
  • Do not apply self-tanning products to the area.
  • Sunburnt, irritated or inflamed skin cannot be waxed. Please reschedule.

WARNING: if you are currently taking any skin thinning medications such as Accutane (within 12 months of use), topical acne treatments (e.g. Epiduo) or Retin-A creams please be aware that you will not be able to receive any waxing treatments. These products can cause extreme sensitivity. Thin, sensitive skin is more vulnerable to lifting, burning and sensitivity during waxing. Please consult your dermatologist for safer hair removal options.

Aftercare Advice

After waxing you may experience increased sensitivity and redness to the area – this completely normal and should subside within 48 hours post treatment. If sensitivity persists, please apply a cold compress and seek medical advise.

  • Avoid exposure to extreme heat such as showers, saunas or steam rooms for 24 hours post waxing.

  • Do not apply makeup to the area for a minimum of 12 hours.

  • Minimise exposure to UV light for 48 hours. Ensure you are wearing SPF at all times to reduce the risk of sunburn.

  • Please do not touch the area – it is important that freshly waxed skin remains clean and free of bacteria.

  • Avoid perfumed products on the area.

  • Exfoliating products such as retinol, AHA’s or BHA’s must not be used on the areas for 48 hours before and after your waxing service. Using such products will increase skin sensitivity.

Hot Tip!

If you are prone to breakouts after waxing, apply antiseptic lotions such as Bepanthen or Tea Tree Cream to the area. ‘Bump Eraser’ is another great product that can assist with post-waxing breakouts and can be purchased from most chemists in the hair removal section.
